| On November 26 to 28 IUSY realized a training workshop for young female political leaders from the countries of the Black Sea Area. The main purpose of the workshop was to strengthen the participants in their roles as organizations' leaders. Thirteen participants from seven organizations and the same number of countries from the region attended the workshop that took place in Vienna. Two trainers – Evin Incir from SSU in Sweden and IUSY Feminist Working group coordinator Zita Schellekens from JS in de PvdA in the Netherlands – helped the participants to develop and improve skills such as recognizing and using one's strengths, styles and methods of leadership, coordinating and managing human resources, and dealing with challenging situations in public appearance. In addition, special attention was placed on learning to recognize the domination techniques – behavioural patterns used to undermine one's arguments and credibility – and developing methods to assertively and positively overcome them. IUSY would like to thank the Olof Palme International Centre in Sweden for their invaluable support in the realization of this activity. |
