Fighting Right Wing Extremism is unfortunatly getting more and more needed since racism is getting more and more spread around Europe. IUSY notes with concern that in several European countries far right parties are (re-)gaining support and political power. The recent developments in Sweden, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and the Netherlands seem to be part of a wider trend in Europe, which will further develop if we do not act now. It is first and foremost the task of Social Democracy to tackle this challenge. It was due to our shortcomings in the past that let the far right fill a political vacuum. IUSY is aware of the important role that young politicans have to play in influencing our societies and parties on how to move ahead. IUSY therefore calls for an honest renewal of the way our parties do politics and a more participatory approach in our struggle for a more equal society.
